President Obama is due to receive a high-security BlackBerry 8830, according to the Washington Times.

The devise is in the final stages of development at the National Security Agency (NSA) which will check that its encryption software meets federal standards.

Obama will only be able to communicate with those people who also have the secure software loaded on their own devices.
