The world's first computer network protected by 'unbreakable' quantum encryption has brought us a step closer to perfect secrecy.
Launched at a scientific conference in Vienna, quantum cryptography is completely different from other kinds of encryption used on networks. Usually these are based on complex mathematical procedures which although hard to crack are not impossible. However quantum systems are based on the laws of quantum theory, which have shown to be inherently unbreakable.
