McAfee's spam experiment comprised of 50 people from around the world to surf the Internet without spam filters.

The experiment revealed that the average Internet user surfing without a filter, would receive 70 spam messages every day. The UK is mostly targeted by the 419 Nigerian scammers or emails containing adult content.

McAfee concluded that spam is showing no signs of slowing down and that targeted attacks are becoming more popular.

The chief executive of McAfee says that while spam will never be obsolete, it can be successfully managed.
