Citibank, one of the world's largest banks, is reported to have had millions of dollars stolen over the past year.

The two hackers are thought to have used bank accounts and PINs acquired over the Internet in order to steal millions. The pair are alleged to be part of a worldwide scam that has made 9,000 fraudulent ATM withdrawals from October 2007 to March of this year.

Avivah Litan, Gartner vice president says that it is easy to create a counterfeit credit card if the correct information is obtained, "all you have to have is the PIN and enough customer information." Litan goes on to say that ATM and debit card fraud is expected to rise over the next few years.
