Adobe Air allows users to access certain online applications offline.
A free download will allow users of Macs, PCs and, later this year, Linux machines to run any Air applications. Air will allow applications from the web that run on the browser, to be accessed via the desktop.
Some companies, such as Ebay, have already built Air applications. The popular auction site has designed a program that allows users to work offline in order to set up an account or keep up to date with auctions and bids.
