NTA becomes a PCI security standards council approved scanning vendor
NTA Monitor, a market leading, innovative provider of IT security testing and consultancy services, has become a PCI Security Standards Council Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV).
The PCI security standards use a set of industry measurements and tools to secure payment card transactions and systems. The organisation is self regulating and was founded by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa International.
In order to qualify as an ASV, NTA was successfully tested in three main areas:
- Scan administration - how NTA collects and manages scan requests from its customers
- Scan performance - the ability of NTA to identify vulnerabilities and misconfigurations in the network and web application; and
- Scan report - how NTA presents the scan results to its customers
Roy Hills, Technical Director at NTA Monitor, comments: "The PCI standards are a combination of industry tools and measurements, which help to ensure that sensitive information is securely stored. Many organisations' auditing processes require their security testing services to be of a PCI standard and as our testing and auditing services offer PCI compliance as a part of our packages, customers can be certain that their payment transaction systems are secured to a very high standard."
