Guildford MP Anne Milton agreed to leave her computer unattended for 60 seconds as part of a test of House of Commons' IT security by the BBC's Inside Out programme. It took a six year old girl just 15 seconds to install a keylogger onto the PC.

Anne Milton commented: "It really surprises me. It's the speed, the size of the device and the ease with which it was attached to my computer ... My first duty is to my constituents and it's frightening to discover that someone can so easily spy on what you're doing without you knowing about it."

The details of how the girl managed to circumvent security and plant the keylogger have not been revealed and the House of Commons administration has declined to comment on the episode.
