Samsung's US website has been hosting malware and nobody knows how long it was there. It has now been removed, although it's thought that it may have been there for quite some time.

It is believed that the US-based server contained a number of directories and files which, if downloaded and run, would have infected PCs with malicious code. User interaction would have been required, most probably through clicking on links in spam emails, so every visitor to the website would not have been affected.

According to a Samsung spokesperson: "The malicious code has been taken down and it is being investigated - [the malware] has been identified and it has been pulled back."
