A man who attended the Hope (Hackers on Planet Earth) conference in New York in July was arrested before he could even take part in a panel discussion. Steven Rombom allegedly impersonated a federal officer while trying to locate a government informant involved in a 2003 money-laundering indictment of a former Brooklyn assistant district attorney. He now faces charges of witness tampering and obstruction of justice.

Rombom was due to speak at a session entitled 'Privacy is Dead ... Get Over It', when FBI agents arrested him.
