Risk: High
Microsoft released its monthly updates on Tuesday 8 August, most of which addressed Windows vulnerabilities. There were 12 advisories in total, of which 9 were critical and 3 important.
All but one of the critical vulnerabilities could result in remote code execution; the remaining critical flaw was a cumulative update for Internet Explorer. Two of the three important vulnerabilities could allow remote code and execution with the remaining flaw allowing elevation of privilege.
