McAfee's SiteAdvisor has discovered that many websites associated with the World Cup players and teams are infested with spyware and adware.

24% of websites associated with Angola had spy or adware, followed by Brazil (17%), Portugal (16%), Argentina (14%) and the USA (13%). The number of risky sites associated with players was staggering - 45.5% of sites related to Luis Mamona Joao of Angola contained spy or adware and 30% of sites relating to David Beckham were found to be unsafe.

World Cup cyber-malice has grown in popularity, with fraudsters keen to profit from the sporting event of the year.
