A ransom Trojan named Ransom-A has recently been discovered, which is thought to have spread through peer to peer networks and spamming. The Trojan displays pornographic images and aggressive demands for a ransom fee of $10.99 in exchange for a code that allegedly removes the Trojan. The message displayed also threatens that one file on an infected PC will be deleted every 30 minutes unless the ransom is paid.

If a user tries to stop the Trojan spreading by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del, the attacker taunts them with the message: "Yeah, We don't die, We multiply! Ctrl+Alt+Del isn't quite working today, is it? I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but Crtl+Alt+Del is everyone's S.O.S."

Police are investigating, and people are advised to keep anti-virus software installed and up to date.
