The purpose of Protos test suite is to evaluate implementation level security and robustness of Internet Security Association and Key Management Protocol (ISAKMP) implementations. Multiple vulnerabilities have been found in the IPsec DOI version of ISAKMP, IKE.
The vulnerabilities discovered in IKEv1 could enable an attacker to launch a Denial of Service (DoS) attack, allowing execution of arbitrary code.
There are firmware downloads and software patches available from multiple vendors affected, including Avaya, HP-UX, Sun Solaris, Checkpoint, Open BSI, Juniper and Nortel.
