Risk: Medium

Oracle's most recent quarterly patch, issued in January 2006, detailed all patches currently available for 82 security risks.

Some of these risks enable arbitrary programs to be overwritten, SQL injection attacks to be launched and private information to be accessed.

Many users of Oracle databases tend to consider that they are not at great risk, largely because their servers tend to be behind firewalls. However, this isn't always the case and it is still crucial that all Oracle users download the vendor's patches as soon as possible.

As Oracle now issues its Critical Patch Updates once a quarter, users will have to wait until 18th April for any further patches.
