The virus, Virkel.F, can be downloaded from a website and comes as a file called BETA8WEBINSTALL.EXE.

Running the program installs a virus that sends download links to a computer user's MSN Messenger contacts. The virus falsely labels the link as "MSN Messenger 8 Working BETA" and connects the user’s computer to a botnet server, enabling the computer to be controlled remotely.
