Cisco IOS IPv6 Packet Handling Vulnerability

A vulnerability has been reported in Cisco IOS, which can be exploited to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or potentially compromise a vulnerable network device.

The vulnerability is caused due to an unspecified error within the processing of IPv6 traffic and can be exploited via a specially crafted IPv6 packet received on a logical interface.

Successful exploitation requires that the packet be sent from a local network segment and that the device is configured for IPv6.
