A new Security and Support Alert from Hewlett-Packard has been issued identifying a potential vulnerability in HP-UX that affects Avaya System products using this Operating System. The product concerned is The Avaya Predictive Dialing System (PDS, formerly MOSAIX) which is shipped with the HP-UX Operating system.

The vulnerability which can be exploited to cause a DoS (Denial of Service), is caused by an unspecified error in the PMTU discovery processing when receiving a specially crafted packet on any open connection. Successful exploitation causes a DoS and requires a reboot of the system to regain functionality.

The vulnerability affects HP-UX B.11.00, B.11.04, B.11.11, B.11.22, and B.11.23 running TCP/IP (IPv4).
